About the work:
This work represents Mackenzie’s exploration of Making through Healing, navigated through an auto-ethnographical lens. Diagnosed with Childhood Panic Disorder at six, she has reflected on how this has materialised. Since 2021, Mackenzie has found solace in gathering artefacts along the Thames and subsequently transforming them into new objects through cleansing, processing and profound self-reflection. By tapping into the memory-evoking quality of the materials, she draws attention to the inherent stories of the found objects.
