Studio Ellie Maya curated the art direction for The Usual in Brussels. We commissioned a Brussels-based textile artist to create a triptych for the bar and restaurant. Crafted from leftover yarns; including wool, cotton and linen, the textile works were created on a jacquard loom. Merging traditional craftsmanship with digital tools resulted in a beautiful trio of organic, tactile pieces. We prioritised locally sourced, circular materials and collaborations to foster a deeper connection between the hotel, its community and surroundings - blending creativity and environmental responsibility through innovative design and curation.
