Jane Wright

Jane Wright

Belgian interdisciplinary designer, Jane Wright, transforms excess materials from textile and construction streams into covetable domestic objects and installations. With durability and circularity at the forefront of her work and collaborations, material innovation and responsible processes are paramount to her practice.

In her latest body of work, Jane designed a series of crafted objects that repurpose waste selvedges from the Scottish woven industry. Using her knowledge of textile and industrial design, she offers an alternative for material regeneration, developing textiles and objects that seek to restore balance.

Aware of the wider system and the social implication of its production, her practice moves away from material-intensive behaviour and towards a more holistic and rooted conception of design.

Dedicated to facilitating the design for REUSE strategy to be adopted at scale, she is an active member of a collective organisation that brings artists and designers together.

Jane graduated from the Textile Design MA at the Royal College of Art in London in 2022
