Emily Hatton

Emily Hatton is a three-dimensional surface designer based in Dorset. Inspired by the intricate details of the world around her, she plays with shape, colour and perspective to create incredibly versatile three-dimensional tiles that can adorn both walls and furniture.

Emily’s experimental working methods showcase the complexity of simple shapes through repetition, configuration and colour. Décor Tile, which has a beautifully distinct pattern, reflects the shapes and silhouettes found amongst the rooftops. The tiles are created using a combination of techniques including laser-cutting, hand construction, laser-etch and digital print. The materials used include responsibly sourced birch ply, recycled acrylic and eco-resin (Jesmonite). Abstract Waste explores the casting of waste products such as grass cuttings, egg-shell, sawdust and wood shavings, which alter the surface quality of the resin creating a unique pattern and texture.

Emily’s multipurpose tiles can be used for luxury wall panelling, wall art, furniture and bespoke art pieces.
